College vs. Post-Grad Drinking: Ohh How Our Habits Change

College vs. post-grad drinking. It's like comparing a frat party to a nice charcuterie board and bottle of pinot noir . Things have definitely changed since our good old days of chugging beer bongs and doing keg stands. Let's dive into the world of college drinking and compare it to the post-grad life, shall we?

College Days:

When Drinking Is a Sport

Remember when your GPA wasn't the only thing that needed a boost? In college, drinking was a competitive sport. You and your buddies would take on any and all challengers in a game of beer pong, flip cup, or even good old-fashioned chugging contests. You could drink all night and still make it to your 8am class the next day. You had no worries except the hangxiety from seeing your classmates at the bar.

Post-Grad Life:

Flash forward to the real world, and things have changed. You still like to drink, but it's not the same as it used to be. You've got responsibilities and commitments. You can't drink like a frat boy because you have to work in the morning and a furry four legged companion to provide for. Your body can't handle that kind of punishment anymore, and hangovers last longer than most relationships. You've also got to keep it together at social events because who knows who you'll run into? You can't be the drunken mess you used to be. You've got to Atleast keep it somewhat coherent.

The Pros and Cons of College vs. Post-Grad Drinking

Let's break it down for you:

Pros of College Drinking:

  • You have no responsibilities.

  • You can drink all night without worrying about the consequences.

  • Cheap booze is your best friend.

  • You have a higher tolerance for alcohol and can drink everyone under the table.

  • You can experiment with all kinds of drinks, shots, and mixers.

  • You have hilarious stories to tell.

Cons of College Drinking:

  • You'll probably wake up with regret.

  • You're more likely to do something stupid or embarrassing.

  • Even though you're going out on only bar nights that have drink specials somehow you're still always broke (hint it's because in college drink specials are typically 4 nights out of the week)

Pros of Post-Grad Drinking:

  • You have money to buy the good stuff.

  • You've learned your limits and how to drink responsibly (right?)

  • You can still have fun, just at a more reasonable hour.

  • You can make more sophisticated drinks.

Cons of Post-Grad Drinking:

  • Hangovers can last for days.

  • You have to act like a responsible adult in public.

  • You can't drink like you used to.

  • You might miss the good old days.

In conclusion, college vs. post-grad drinking is like comparing apples to oranges. Both are good, but in different ways. Enjoy the memories of the good old days, but don't forget to appreciate the new ones. Cheers to drinking responsibly!
