BEER LEAGUE ATHLETICS: GUIDE TO THROWING A KICK-ASS ST. PATRICKS DAY PARTY

St. Patrick's Day. The one day a year where everyone pretends to be Irish and uses it as an excuse to drink until they can't remember their own name. And if you're a college student, it's the perfect opportunity to throw a wild party that would make even the most seasoned frat bros jealous. So, in the spirit of debauchery and good times, here are some tips on how to throw a kickass St. Patrick's Day party.

  1. Booze, Booze, and More Booze: First things first, you need booze. And lots of it. This is not the time for fancy craft beers or expensive whiskey. You need cheap, green beer, and lots of it. Think kegs, cases, and handles. The goal is to get everyone so drunk that they forget they're not actually Irish. And don't forget the green food coloring – everything from the beer to the Jell-O shots should be bright green.

  2. Decorations: Next up, decorations. Go all out with the St. Patrick's Day theme. Think green streamers, shamrock-shaped confetti, and those weird hats that everyone wears. And don't forget the leprechaun piñata – it's the perfect way to relieve stress after your 12th shot of Jameson. If you really want to go all out, rent a green smoke machine and create your own magical leprechaun forest in the living room.

  3. Food: Let's be honest, nobody is really here for the food. But you still need something to soak up all that booze. Stick with easy, crowd-pleasing options like pizza, nachos, and sliders. But don't forget to add a little Irish twist – top your pizza with corned beef and cabbage, or make Irish nachos with potato chips instead of tortilla chips. And for dessert, have a bowl of Lucky Charms on hand for those late-night munchies.

  4. Music: Music can make or break a party, so make sure you have a killer playlist. Stick with classic Irish tunes like "Whiskey in the Jar" and "The Wild Rover," but also throw in some crowd-pleasers like "Sweet Caroline" and "Mr. Brightside." And if you really want to get people dancing, add some throwback hits from the early 2000s – think "Yeah!" by Usher and "Ignition (Remix)" by R. Kelly. Just make sure to have some earplugs on hand for the neighbors.

  5. Party Games: Finally, no party is complete without some fun party games. If you're feeling traditional, try your luck at a game of beer pong or flip cup. But if you want to up the ante, try some St. Patrick's Day-themed games like Pin the Beard on the Leprechaun or a Lucky Charms eating contest. And if you really want to get people riled up, have a "Most Irish" costume contest – the winner gets a pot of (chocolate) gold.

So, there you have it – your guide to throwing a kickass St. Patrick's Day party. Just remember to drink responsibly (yeah, right), and have a designated driver or a safe ride home. And if you wake up the next morning covered in green glitter and regret, well, at least you'll have some good memories (or lack thereof). Sláinte!
